Hurghada in Egypt is a great value holiday destination.&nbsp;Hurghada town itself is not the prettiest of places - there are a few really good beach bars, restaurant and clubs but it is important to find the good spots amongst the rest. The hotels in Hurghada are spread out over several kilometres of beach south of Hurghada town. The real appeal of this destination is that&nbsp;it offers a long wind season, great value quality accommodation and world-class conditions for water sports.

Hurghada

The kitesurfing spot is near the Mercure Hurghada Hotel, approximately 700 meters downwind of Caribbean-style sandbanks. Right in front of the kitesurf centre, there's a spacious freeride area, perfect for everyone on the water. It's an ideal location for practising gybes or kite jump manoeuvres. Typically, the prevailing wind comes crossshore from the left, and in the morning, it may blow cross-offshore before changing direction. The sandbanks are reachable in a few tacks, depending on the wind direction. Tides vary in height throughout the seasons, affecting the exposure of the sandbanks. The area primarily consists of fine sand with small visible patches of coral, making it advisable to wear neoprene shoes.A radio rescue system ensures exceptional rescue coverage. You can always get assistance if you are upwind of the sandbanks or in front of the centre.Upwind from the kitesurf centre, there's an extended sandy beach suitable for experienced kiters to launch and land their kites. During high tide, launching directly from the sandy beach is possible. At low tide, a red buoy near the launching and landing beach indicates where the water becomes shallow. Kitesurfing is possible at any tide height, and kitesurf centre staff are available for launching and landing assistance. Neoprene shoes are also recommended.

Hurghada Kitesurf Holidays

Hurghada is an ideal freeride windsurf location boasting shallow waters, and an upwind standing area on the picturesque sandbanks. The Caribbean-like sandbanks and turquoise waters offer boundless space both windward and leeward. The Windsurf Centre is a stone's throw away from the water, situated directly at a small bay with a sandy beach.This spot stands out for its all-encompassing features, including a cross-shore wind from the left without turbulence, shallow waters, and a standing area on the sandbanks.&nbsp;The 700m upwind islands are easily accessible with a few tacks depending on the wind direction. During winter and spring, the morning wind tends to be cross-offshore, allowing a direct run to the islands. For less experienced windsurfers, the Harry Nass Centre provides a boat shuttle to the islands, ensuring safety with a radio rescue system and three available lifeboats.On windless days, guests can enjoy complimentary use of SUP boards. For non-surfing partners, entertainment options include snorkelling at the nearby reef, a hotel workout program, a riding stable, diving facilities, and tennis.Adding to the experience, modern restaurants like Thai or Indian cuisine offer various dining options in Hurghada. The newly designed marina, featuring yachts and restaurants, is a must-visit destination.

The wingfoiling spot is near the Mercure Hurghada Hotel, providing quick access to deep water without tidal issues. There are expansive, super-flat water sections ideal for beginners and improving wingfoilers. For those learning Wingfoiling, Hurghada is an excellent location with perfect conditions, state-of-the-art equipment, and, most importantly, top-notch instruction accompanied by boat support.The prevailing wind typically comes crossshore from the left. This service will allow you to store your kitesurf equipment at the centre, and often also includes free rescue service assuming you are riding upwind level or above.

Foilboarding, kite foiling, hydrofoil kiteboarding, foil kiteboarding - you can call it many names, but it all leads to the same discipline: riding a kite with a hydrofoil board under your feet and it allows you&nbsp;to kite&nbsp;along above the surface of the water. Kitefoil is considered the next era in kitesurfing. Learn advanced maneuvers like jumps, tacks, and gybes, take an epic foil trip along the coast, or simply learn how to foil in case you have never tried it.

For anyone who has never tried windsurfing before, during this windsurf course, you will learn the very basics of Windsurfing. This includes how to lift the sail up from the water to your first rides in both directions. Groups are rarely more than 6 people. Your course includes board, sail, wetsuit, life jacket and insurance.Never been on a board but feels like the water and wind are calling your name? In the beginner course, you&nbsp;will learn the basics, such as how to stand up on the board, how to go upwind, and the basics and theory of jibing and tacking. You will understand the directions of the wind and gradually will gain confidence on the water! Introductory lessons typically take place either in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the wind conditions.&nbsp;

Having a windsurf lesson as part of a group is great fun, sociable, and great value. Groups are rarely more than 6 people (normally 3 to 4) and include equipment rental during the lessons. The focus of these lessons are planning, beachstart and waterstart. For more advanced skills like jibes, freestyle and loops, we recommend private lessons.&nbsp;
